Privacy Policy – La Clusaz Mobile App

The official mobile app of La Clusaz, developed and operated by Grincat, is committed to protecting users’ privacy. This policy outlines the types of data we collect, how it is used, and how it is handled, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Geolocation

The app requests access to the user’s location in order to provide geolocation-based features, such as:

  • displaying the user’s position on the map,

     

  • generating personalized routes (on foot, by car or on skis).

Location is only used while the user is actively using the app. It is never tracked in the background when the app is closed or minimized.
 User location is not stored on our servers, and is never linked to any personal identifier or transmitted to third parties.

2. Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage statistics using Matomo, with no cookies or user identifiers.. Collected data includes:

  • visited screens and pages,

     

  • session duration,
  • interactions (clicks, navigation),
  • language settings, device type, and country of origin.

This data is used exclusively to improve the app’s functionality. No personally identifiable information is ever collected or stored.

Matomo is self-hosted on our servers located in France (OVH / SoYouStart).

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

No personal or behavioral data is shared with third-party advertising or analytics services.

Some aggregated and fully anonymous usage data may be shared with the station of La Clusaz and its stakeholders (SEM, Tourist Office, SATELC) for service improvement purposes.

The app does not use third-party SDKs such as Firebase, Google Analytics, or crash reporting tools.

4. Push Notifications

The app may soon include push notifications powered by WonderPush by Brevo, to share real-time alerts and useful information during the user’s stay

No personal data is collected or stored. Notifications are not linked to any identifiable user account.

5. Personal Data

The app does not require users to create an account or log in.
We do not collect any personal information such as:

  • names,

     

  • emails,
  • phone numbers,
  • or contact forms.

No device or session identifiers are generated to track users.

6. Data Processing

All data, if collected, is processed by Grincat, the data controller, in compliance with GDPR.
Data is stored exclusively on servers located in France.

Although we do not currently have a designated Data Protection Officer (DPO), any request related to your personal data (access, correction, deletion) can be addressed to:

7. Updates

This privacy policy may be updated. If so, users will be informed via the app or other official communication channels.
